At Elsenham House we feel we have the optimum ratio of staff to clients which enables us to provide enhanced therapeutic care well beyond the usual standards expected in residential environments.

Introduction to Our Team

Elsenham House has in excess of 15 care assistants, most of who are widely experienced and all are trained or working towards a minimum of NVQ Level 2 or 3 in care. The staff team also include the usual ancillary staff, cooks, domestic cleaner and maintenance person. In addition to the clinical leaders Elsenham House is fortunate in employing several other professionally qualified staff. Together, these people have considerable nursing and residential experience. Many come from backgrounds in general, psychiatric, learning difficulties and residential care.

John Dupuis BA, MHA (Hons) UCL, Proprietor

In his last appointment, he was Assistant Director of a 300-bed private Hospital and rehabilitation centre in Denmark.

Our Commitment to Professional Excellence

Recognising that staff are the most valuable asset, at Elsenham House we pay particular attention to all aspects of human resource management. In particular great care is taken in the process of recruitment and training of staff, so much so, that currently we are exploring the feasibility of gaining the "Investors In People" award. Staff training also extends well beyond the statutory requirement for 50% of staff to have NVQ Level 2 by April 2005. It includes additional training in psychology, mental health, pharmacology and basic counselling skills.
